Sommeliers. Sailors. Sidekicks.

EACH OF US FOLLOWED A SIREN SONG TO A DIFFERENT DREAM ON NANTUCKET.

Through luck (and a love of wine) we found one another and pooled our passion to bring others together through wines as delightfully unexpected as our friendship. Some friends start a book club. We bought a vineyard.

Meet the Team

  • Courtney Doyle

Courtney Doyle found her way into wine through business. With over 20 years in advertising, she worked with top global brands like Volkswagen, Cadillac, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. As a young exec, she quickly learned that wine was the ultimate connector, thanks to a mentor who taught her “how to order.” Her passion took off—along with her expense reports. Combining wine with her love of travel, she explored top regions worldwide, from Napa to Argentina, where Great Point Vineyards began. Always chasing the next great bottle and adventure, Courtney’s journey in wine is just getting started.

  • Emily Hotter

Emily Hotter grew up in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York, fostering an early love of wine. In 2010, she began working in Nantucket restaurants, sparking her true calling: hospitality. Over 12 years, she earned advanced certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and WSET while working in top restaurants all across the U.S. She spent six years leading and growing the seven-figure wine program at Cru Oyster Bar before co-founding Pocomo Wine Co., a thriving wine concierge and events business. In 2022, Emily found herself hosting paired wine dinners at 18 Broad Street, on Nantucket. A year later the space would evolve into Ethos wine bar and bistro, a boutique wine and cocktail bar co-founded with her husband and best friend.

  • Gracie Schadt

Gracie's wine journey began surprisingly, in her home state of Montana. There she transitioned from Franzia to the fine wines of Burgundy, Napa, and beyond while building multi-million dollar beverage programs at the Yellowstone Club.  Driven by her newfound passion, she pursued advanced certifications from WSET and the Court of Master Sommeliers, honing her expertise in luxury hospitality. Her path soon led to Nantucket, where she further refined her skills and cultivated invaluable connections. As co-founder of Pocomo Wine Co, she gained firsthand experience in business management and fine wine consultation. 2023 saw the opening of Ethos Wine Bar and Bistro, marking her first brick-and-mortar establishment in the hospitality industry
